Do you wish you were rich and Famous ?

Rich

Answer by Maynas Chua

Thanks Big Kev for asking this question.

For me, it’s both a easy and difficult question to answer.

RICH:

It depends on how rich, to me, there are two kinds of rich.

Rich enough to have the financial freedom to do whatever we would like to choose to do and not worry about the lack of money. I believe this is what many people would want. The threshold which I believe most people would be comfortable living at, I would say $10k per month of passive income. Income that comes in in regardless of whether you are working or not. Usually this comes in the forms of previous investments.

The 2nd kind of Rich, I feel, would refer to the excess of money that a person would have that a normal lifestyle for the rest of your life is secured. And because you have the excess of money, you have the power to change people’s lives. With the power of excessive money, comes the power of responsibility. How much is needed? I would gauge this figure at millions. 5 million would be a good estimate.

FAMOUS:

When this word comes to mind, it usually refers to Film Stars and Singers. Perhaps even politicians and the billionaires.

They are of different levels of fame, some that come and go away. Others linger on for the history books and stay.

I believe that to be famous for the right reasons so that you can do good, is a much better reason to become famous rather than the “come and go” fame of various artists.

Sometimes you would need fame and people to know you to get things done. Leverage of things. If Gandhi wasn’t well known, would masses of people follow him? He has to be well known in order to accompish great things that matter. Richard Branson opt to be well known, he’s the icon for his chain of companies, and he does good. That’s what matters. This kind of fame is different from those who seek fame just to sell CDs. Of course there are examples of artists who do good through their fame too. But that’s a another story.

Gandhi proved that with Fame but not riches, you can accomplish great things.

Even if you are rich but not famous, you can still do good behind the scenes.

Richard Branson proved that with both Fame and Riches, you can do alot Globally with less obstacles.

To answer this question,

YES, Both are not merely wishes, they are a “Must”.

For I wish to do good for more people and also to take good care of my family.
